چکیده

Background Objectives: We evaluated nailfold capillaroscopy (NFC) of interstitial pneumonia with autoimmune features (IPAF) and compared it that patients CTD-ILD idiopathic (IIP). Methods Patients newly diagnosed as ILD were using NFC. Baseline demographic, clinical, serological, high-resolution CT findings collected. NFC was semi-quantitatively scored six domains ranging from 0 to 18. In addition, the overall patterns (scleroderma/non-scleroderma patterns) determined. Results A total 81 (31 CTD-ILD, 18 IPAF, 32 IIP) included. The non-specific pattern most common in IPAF groups, whereas usual IIP group. semi-quantitative score group higher than or groups (5.8 vs 4.2 3.0, p < 0.001, respectively). Giant capillaries haemorrhages more frequently present scleroderma 27.8% group, none showed a pattern. Conclusion may be useful classifying into CTD-ILD/IPAF/IIP. Interstitial pneumonitis with autoimmune features (IPAF): a work in progress.

In clinical practice, it is common to encounter patients with an “idiopathic” interstitial pneumonia (IIP) associated with features suggestive of, but not diagnostic for, a classical connective tissue disease (CTD). In some cases, serological abnormalities are absent and in other cases, serological findings are suggestive of a specific CTD, but systemic clinical features are not. Alternatively,...

Clinical Association of Chemokine (C-X-C motif) Ligand 1 (CXCL1) with Interstitial Pneumonia with Autoimmune Features (IPAF)

The term "interstitial pneumonia with autoimmune features" (IPAF) has been recently proposed. We here investigate the clinical characteristics of IPAF and evaluate the clinical implications of CXCL1-CXCR2 axis in IPAF. An increased plasma level of CXCL1 was exhibited in IPAF compared to idiopathic interstitial pneumonia (IIP), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and healthy controls. ...

Role of Autoantibodies in the Diagnosis of Connective-Tissue Disease ILD (CTD-ILD) and Interstitial Pneumonia with Autoimmune Features (IPAF)

The diagnosis of interstitial lung disease (ILD) requires meticulous evaluation for an underlying connective tissue disease (CTD), with major implications for prognosis and management. CTD associated ILD (CTD-ILD) occurs most commonly in the context of an established CTD, but can be the first and/or only manifestation of an occult CTD or occur in patients who have features suggestive of an auto...

Characterisation of patients with interstitial pneumonia with autoimmune features.

Patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD) may have features of connective tissue disease (CTD), but lack findings diagnostic of a specific CTD. A recent European Respiratory Society/American Thoracic Society research statement proposed criteria for patients with interstitial pneumonia with autoimmune features (IPAF).We applied IPAF criteria to patients with idiopathic interstitial pneumonia...

Spontaneous Improvement of Interstitial Pneumonia with Autoimmune Features

A 66-year-old man, diagnosed with interstitial pneumonia based on high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) findings (Picture 1) presented to our hospital due to a persistent dry cough with desaturation. Pulmonary function tests showed a reduced forced vital capacity of 1.90 L (51% predicted) and a decreased diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (65% predicted). A surgical lung biopsy reveale...
